IT WAS A WINDY DAY AT JACKSON FIELD ON TUESDAY, BUT IT DIDN’T PLAY IN THE BEARS’ FAVOR.
AIR FORCE HIT THREE HOME RUNS IN THE FIRST TWO INNINGS, EVENTUALLY DEFEATING U-N-C 17 TO NINE.

THE TWO TEAMS COMBINED TO SCORE 12 RUNS IN THE FIRST THREE INNINGS, WITH THE FALCONS LEADING SEVEN TO FIVE AFTER THREE.
AIR FORCE SCORED THREE IN THE FIRST, COURTESY OF BACK-TO-BACK HOMERS BY NIC READY AND ROB DAU.
BUT THE BEARS BATTED AROUND IN THE BOTTOM HALF, SCORING FIVE RUNS TO TAKE THE LEAD.
STARTER GAVIN GORRELL COULDN’T RECORD A SHUT-DOWN INNING, AS DREW WISS HIT THE ACADEMY’S THIRD BIG FLY OF THE GAME TO GIVE THEM A SEVEN TO FIVE LEAD.
U-N-C GOT WITHIN ONE IN THE FOURTH ON AN R-B-I SINGLE BY JACK PAULEY, BUT THAT’S WHEN THE FALCONS BUSTED THE GAME WIDE OPEN.
AIR FORCE SCORED 10 RUNS IN THE NEXT THREE INNINGS, PROPELLING THEM TO VICTORY.

WITH THE LOSS, THE BEARS FALL TO 20 AND 17 ON THE SEASON.
